Smith is a graduate of the Architecture program at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to and upon graduating he worked on commercial and residential projects in a traditional Architect's roll. While working in Dallas he began project management and owner representation work. After ten years and completing projects in Brazil, Mexico, Canada, California, Texas, and Washington, Smith and family returned to Austin.
